Chattanooga State Technical Community College
The Chattanooga State Commercial Truck Driving Program is designed to meet the needs of the trucking industry. The program stresses the basic training principles and skills required to operate commercial motor vehicles of all types, sizes and under all driving conditions. Students receive specialized training on the safe operation of a trailer including loading, unloading and docking. Students also receive classroom training on all federal, state and local laws.

Drive-Train
Drive-Train provides the opportunity for students to increase their knowledge by providing a course of instruction in Truck Driver Training. We recognize that all people do not have the same background, abilities, or desires and cannot be fitted into the same mold. Therefore, the objective of Drive-Train is to treat each student as an individual. Tennessee Technology Center At Ripley
The Commercial Truck Driver (CTD) course is designed to prepare the student to begin a career as a professional truck driver. Classroom presentation includes Department of Transportation rules and regulations, vehicle maintenance, and procedures for daily logging. Each student spends 216 hours observing and/or conducting behind-the-wheel training on the obstacle course driving range, and also on the road operating one of the school's two modern tractor trailer rigs. Such exercises enhance the capabilities necessary to pass the CDL road test. Mastery of all covered skills is required for a certificate.

Tennessee Technology Center at Shelbyville
The mission of the program is to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to become employed as a commercial truck driver. Instruction consist of classroom work, yard driving, and road driving experiences designed to meet the needs of the trucking industry. Students are taught to drive defensively and to have the knowledge necessary to operate the vehicle as well as well as abiding by all local, state and federal regulations. Information is presented which will prepare the student for both the written and skills portions of the commercial drivers license (CDL) examination.
