Mesalands Community College
The Commercial Truck Driving Program has ideal training facilities — which include a spacious classroom and two backing ranges that were built specifically for semi-trucks. Students will get quality driving time utilizing the College's different tractor/trailer combinations to get the feel of different engines and gear ratios. A 6,000-gallon tanker is filled with water so students can experience the "surge." Other equipment includes a set of double trailers, a 40-foot flatbed, a 53-foot dry van, and a 48-foot refrigerated trailer. Concrete barricades are loaded on some of the trailers so students can experience driving with a loaded trailer.
