Southwest Kansas Technical School
If the thought of driving a big rig across miles of highway is exciting, then truck driving is the career for you. The program takes only seven weeks to complete. Students will attend eight hours per day for a total of 304 hours of instruction. Students spend 60 hours in the classroom for lectures, demonstrations, audio/visual presentations, worksheets and tests; 40 hours on the driving range for instruction in maneuvering obstacles, braking-shifting, backing and lane control; the final 180 hours will be on-the-road instruction, driving actual loads on two-lane and four-lane roads, interstates, and town and city driving.

Ft Scott CC Truck Driver Trg
Ft. Scott Community College has been training truck drivers since 1979. We have four locations: Ft. Scott, KS, Emporia, KS, Kansas City, KS and Topeka, KS. We are licensed by the state of KS to do the skills portion of the CDL test at the school. Our MO students are taken to a testing site and given the test with the truck that they have been driving while attending school. There is no funding available through the school. However, we are approved for funding though various programs in KS and MO. Call us for funding information.
